Who We Are

We have a new name!  Formerly known as Forty Plus of Central Ohio, we are a member and volunteer-operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers training at nominal cost for professional job seekers of all ages. Thousands of Central Ohioans have benefited from membership since our founding in Columbus in 1982.

Our Mission:  To educate members about the professional skills and strategies for a successful job search, career change, or career advancement in today’s job market.

  • Learn how to effectively navigate today’s job search process through classes designed to promote the self-evaluation needed to prepare effective resumes and cover letters. You will develop your “elevator speech” and networking skills during oral communication exercises. There are even classes to help you sharpen your networking, interviewing, and negotiating skills. Additional workshops and weekly guest speakers provide guidance on various topics, including how to best utilize LinkedIn and social media.
  • We are the only place in in the Columbus area that provides comprehensive training and assistance for a reasonable cost, and that has its own office — a place away from home that includes computers and workspace where you can interact with others.
  • Membership is available at nominal cost, with the return on investment based on your participation.

The Career Transition Institute office is located at 1100 King Ave., (corner of Kenny Rd. and King Ave.) in the Reitter Stucco Building.
